Responding to calls from communities and workers being harmed by Canadian companies around the world, we developed a blueprint for the kind of law we need: one that would require companies to respect human rights and the environment. Similar laws have already been adopted by a number of countries in Europe.
In March 2022, legislation based on our model was tabled in Parliament as private member’s bill C-262.
About the CNCA
Formed in 2005, the CNCA brings together 40 environmental, human rights, religious, labour and solidarity groups from across Canada. We represent the concerns of millions of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. We are connected with communities, workers, Indigenous peoples, and environmental and human rights defenders from around the world. We welcome new members.
